Lightbulb 2005 model year Cooper S JCW kit

Bulletin from MINI today confirms what we suspected - there will be a new JCW kit for Cooper S for 2005 model year.
No more details at present, but I'll let you know when there is.

My dealer showed me the bulletin today. The bulletin reads "anouncement" before the end of the year and does not specify how many bhp and when it will actually be available.

Ummm, flav, no-one knows what the new kit will bring us yet...

Sorry to disappoint anyone who thought thought this thread would bring a revelation!
Will let you know when we hear something.

The bulletin refers to an upgrade to the 2004 MCS ie 170bhp. It does not directly refer to the 225bhp kit but this is the rumoured new kit. The JCW upgrade applied to the 170bhp engine is an unknown quantity and JCW have been vague as to whether this kit means 197 or 204bhp. It seems likely that it is 197bhp. In any event if a 225bhp kit is in the offing £3500 for 27bhp seems a lot because there is a potential for another 28bhp. Incidentally the old ZF gearbox limited power to 250bhp -what about the new unit?

When I spoke to JCG on the phone they said the new Works cars will be 207bhp and as such the price of the kit will remain unchanged. Current Works owners will be able to upgrade.
