Racing Dynamics Strut Brace and K&N Typhoon Short Ram Intake Kit

Here are some pics of my Racing Dynamics aluminum strut brace installed along with the K&N Typhoon Short Ram Air Intake it.....

The kit took about an hour and fifteen minutes to install....Cut my hands all over the place trying to hook on the one hose (stupid clamp).....but it was well worth the effort....At about 4800rpms I can start to hear the supercharger whine like CRAZY.

The strut not only looks nice but definitely helps in handling. I added a strut brace to my 97 rav4 about two years ago and it would take corners better than a 96 Eclipse GST....Go figure! The good thing about this strut brace is that it is angled slightly so the fuse box cover and intake box (if you're stock) or even aftermarket intake will not prevent installation.

I'm loving my ride right now.....

I've had it since April 20th and have gone a little overboard (needless to say).....

Check out my other posts and my gallery! All comments are welcome......

Nice!
It looks like the bar clears the intake. How's the clearance to the hood insulation?

Haven't checked that actually...But I'm thinking it must go pretty much right up against the hood insulation...I'll check to see if it made an indentation.

Thanks.
Pretty well designed fitting right over the intake wall.
Nice looking stuff.

I don't know about Bear Mountain man....There were quite a few bumps and holes around...Wouldn't want to DENT the rims or anything.

By the way the installation guy gave me two weeks before I dented one of them.

Sheesh.

Did I tell you already that you HAVE TO TRADE UP TO THE S???

Heh heh.

I looked at the underside of the hood and didn't see an indentation...so I'm assuming that if it does touch the hood insulation, it was properly designed so as not to dent it...When I closed the hood it did not feel any different than prior to installation....

great ride... finally they get a strut tower brace that doesn't need to have the typhoon disassembled
but i like the AC Schnitzer brace a bit more but i don't think that it would clear though.
its lookin' hot watch out for the pot holes and uneven roads especialy on the round abouts(don't ask how i know this)

Cooper S --- Lots of mods all here

Thanks!

I am hating the potholes right now. I hope I don't dent these rims and/or pop my tires as that's $2000 down the toilet.........

Strut brace definitely improves handling even on the mini. It made a more tremendous impact on my 97 Rav4 but I still think it's worth it to install on any car if available.....
