i would like to hear what the owners of the playmini catback exhaust would have to say... i was looking for a mid-tone exhaust, one that's not boomy yet mean in the same time... as long as it's not miltek quiet or magnaflow loud i can live with it

Ere!! I got one of them!

PlayMINI sounds great. Fairly peaceful at town revs, with a pleasant hum at idle, and gets nicely noisy at 4000rpm+

Here's a quick sample:
http://punkey.net/Punkeyfunkys_PlayMINI_exhaust.mov
(I could only rev it up to 4000rpm cos of the rev limiter)

BTW, give it a nice polish up with some gentle metal polish and it'll look *great*

Hope that helps.

lee,

does your exhaust require the mid-section pipe bit? i looked on minispares and it said for the cat back part I need the single pipe adaptor bit (i think!)

or does your exhaust fit straight on to the standard pipe?

i want to just get a back box and don't want to change any other parts. I want something I can revert back to standard easily enough.

::edited:: i have looked at the magnex box. don't know if anyone has any experience of it? ::

any help be great

Yes, I needed the middle pipe (can't remember exactly which one). I bought the rear box, and the pipe, so that the rear box goes into the pipe, and that attaches to the bracket just after the cat. Obviously, I gotta keep the cat for emissions etc.
If you are unsure, ring PlayMINI themselves and ask for advice (I did) - they're friendly and helpful.

I've got a playmini exhaust as well. Sounds great and I would reccomend it to anyone!!

Reqarding the centre section - if you get a playmini exhaust you'll need it. This is because the standard Mini exhaust is all one piece, from the cat to the tip (mine's hanging on my garage wall so I am 100% sure on that!) and the playmini back box is just that - a back box, so if you want to connect it to the cat you'll need the centre section.

If you're worried about returning the car to stock then that's not a problem - just take the playmini system off (back box and centre section) and put the old exhaust back on.

I can reccomend the un-silenced centre section. Still quiet around town and on the motorway, but sounds like a beast when you hit the loud pedal!

Best of luck!

I have Play MINI on my MCS too, its just the best

nice popping noise, its an attention grabber when you drive through town

If you want more sudate and subtle get a miltek, but it doesn't look as good as the Play or sound as sporty

The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive?

sounds so good - I want I want I want!

Did you fit it yourself? Does it affect your insurance much? Sorry but I might be asking more and more questions about it :-)
