Offline | Do it yourself or conversion??? Hi, I want to get a bit more power out of my MCS, but I can't make up my mind whether to get a conversion, like the BBR 220, or just get the parts myself ie, Exhaust, pulley, AMD Oneclick. I've heard lots of good things about the BBR conversion, but what I really want to know is, will an MCS with a new exhaust, air filter, 19% pulley and AMD Oneclick be just as fast, if not faster than the BBR? Although the BBR is good value for money compared to the Works kit, it does still seem like a lot of money when all you actually get is a new pulley and belt, air filter and ecu. If you did it yourself you could probably get all the same parts plus a new exhaust for the same price. Surely an MCS with a new air filter, exhaust, 19% pulley and AMD Oneclick must have about 220 bhp the same as the BBR, if not more? I would be very interested to hear your opinions on which way to go. Conversion, or do it yourself???? Thanks for your comments. ![]() Dark Silver MCS with Aero Kit Mods - ProMini Air Intake, West Tuning 215bhp Conversion (coming Jan 29th 2005) Planned Mods - Milltek Exhaust |

Offline | but do AmD have a map that can be used with a 19% pulley? Not a showstopper, but it'd be nice to have everything 100% tuned for the extra boost ![]() And try and verify intake and exhaust gains independantly on the dyno first. I did (pipercross intake and a locally made catback similair to the milltek) and showed 0bhp gains for both mods... Not worth the money in my opinion That's just my experience though! |
