United-Kingdom One Make over

Hey again,

For those who havent heard, I am looking to convert my Mini ONE into a Cooper S. Not really performance-wise, but mainly looks-wise, as teh cooper s is one of the most beautiful cars in the world. So, I have posted a forum about getting the look sorted, and I have been overwhelmed by the support and help of the other users of Mini2.com.

However, after having a good think about the future of my Mini ONE, I decided that if i was going to make it look like a cooper s, I may aswell make is perform better. Not being disapointed with the performance of her at the moment, does anyone have any CHEAPER suggestions on how to gain that couple of extra BHP out of her? By cheap I mean under £500.

To get the look, I have opted to buy:
Bumpers -
Front
Rear
Side sills
side repeaters
bonnet
petrol filler cap
exhaust
badges

In addition, I am going to fir some quad lamps, some decals, bonnet stripes and maybe neons (still undecided, as the money could be spent on something more exciting)

Please post any comments, advice or suggestions.

Cheers,
JP

Yeah, i dont wanna get any extras that will be seen as a "waste of money"
I have money, but obviously if its not going to be worth it, i could spend money on other things, drink for example...

I'd say a Superchip as it really makes a difference over 4000 RPM but little before that unfortunately.

How about a turbo kit - theres a lot of companies on the verge of releasing bolt-on turbo kits for the ONE and Cooper at the moment - may be worth saving up for one!

Wouldn't really bother with most other performance upgrades though as they don't seem to make much difference. Though I've heard good things about big valve cyclinder heads and matching the exhaust ports with a specific manifold.

Theres alot of things you can do performance wise, but if you want to keep your warrenty intact then there are a few things you deffinately shouldn't do!

The TLC is too good to waste I think!

Just curious, are you planning to remove the ONE badge and replace it with the S badge?

Wouldn't the S bonnet and repeaters with the S logo already be going that way?

I'd have to go with the others, SuperChip.

Get everything else but just don't get that bonnet!!!!!

I've got the only 3 best visual things from the "S" on my Cooper.

The sideskirts, chrome filler cap and the alloy pedal set.

I like the look of the bonnet, but this does seem to be the main set back with money and availability, so i may consider not getting it, why do u say not to? I know it is "stealing" the look off of the cooper s, but i don't intend to abuse the stautus of the ONE, i will not debadge it.

And I know the side repeaters are semi-sheep-in-wolfs-clothing-esque, but i think they do look a treat.

I think it'd be cool if you added a red S to the ONE badge, an homage of sorts.

United-Kingdom Gonna have my ONE Cooper'd !

2 weeks on saturday I am gonna have a new Cooper ECU fitted to get the extra 25 BHP.

The place that is going to do it fits it for you first and if you're not happy that performance has increased he removes it - you can't say fairer than that eh ? If you are convinced you hand over the money.

Will let you know in 2 weeks whati it's like

Oh - and its a lot less than 500 quid too !!!
