[Blue Thunder]

Well, I hated to see the little Blue Thunder leave. It's was a difficult choices. should I keep Blue Thunder at 246 Hp or Silver Sonic at 287hp. ??? Well I though about it long and hard (about 30 seconds). And I'm keepin' Silver Sonic!!

I asked the new owner if I could just do one more tire bustin' burnout "just for old time sake". He smiled and said. NO WAY!!! are you crazy? I want to thank all the people who were involved with the development of this little car, this includes "Redline Rick" and the entire Promini service and track team.

So if you're ever in Texas and a Little Blue Bullet passes you like he's running from the Highway patrol. It will most likely be Casey Swensen doing just that "Runnin' from the Highway patrol"!!

Sold my black MCS - now Blue Thunder is my 3rd MINI...though according to the wife this one has to last longer then a year...which it will unless the cops take it away from me Dying to get to another all mini track day and really have some fun. If you see me on the street give a honk and wave.

Getting lost is half the fun...it was great when I first moved to texas as my wife and I would go out for drives and not take a map with us...we would just drive for 2 hours or so and then start to try and figure out where we are and how to get back home...makes for some great drives.

Two little video clips - the 2nd one has both Blue Thunder and Silver Sonic in it. The first is from the EuroTuner Challenge at Willow Springs a little over a year ago where it kicked some major butt.

Hey - he better not be running from the HP or he'll be answering to me! Oops, even though I'm still his Dad I realize he no longer answers to me on such matters. Well I'm excited too as my Hyper Blue MCS just arrived at the dealer today (sold my C5 Vette en-route to buying this FUN car) and I'll be picking it up on Friday (400 miles away or I'd be out motoring right now!). As I noted in a past thread, Casey's enthusiasm for MINIs has rubbed off on the family. His brother now owns his first MCS and is slowly but steadily loading it up with ProMINI parts, and now I've been inflicted with MINIitas. Casey is already giving me the hard sell on ProMINI goodies. OK, but nothing that voids the warranty, at least for a while.

Final point, when Casey decided to leaving tropical Minnesota to move to Texas he was anticipating the opportunity to ride in and perhaps, just perhaps, drive Blue Thunder - now he owns it. Casey, congrats on making it happen! Your mother and I will be motoring on down to Texas to see you and BT (and the Misses) in the not so distant future!
