| Yeah...I know !!! | Would you actually lose your warranty? Only your exhaust warranty wil be affected as its not a official Mini part but the Milltek exhaust or any other aftermarket exhaust, will have a warranty anyway ! But isnt the exhaust like brakepads , it will eventually need replacing ? And isnt it just like taking your Mini to Kwik Fit and have one of their exhaust fitted there ? Bit of a grey area i think I have a full Milltek on my car and i love it and it has been in the garage for a couple of warranty repairs (power sterring pump failed and replaced , windscreen replaced , ABS sensor failed and replaced) and i always know when its being brought out of the workshop cos i can hear the driver revving it so they must know about it. I think it has made my car breath alot better and it is noticable , also sounds really good tooo (my car is not standard by the way 0 to 60mph 6.1secs 152mph top speed !!!) ![]() |

Offline | My dealer is pretty cool re mods so am ok re warranty I think ![]() Just interested in feedback regarding all other stuff really like increased noise, any extra oomph ( ), throttle response etc, etc.......At the end of the day I've got a JCW which is pretty rapid... so its a toss up between sepnding the dough on that which is quite a lot or on a couple of other bits and pieces.... ![]() | MINIaddiction | | For MIDLANDS Folk in their MINI's | |

Offline | the manifold is the main part of the exhaust system that restricts the flow, the standard kit is a real bottle neck as it meets the exhaust ![]() The manifold is a good mod to do, it really will free up your car, and having seen Dunc shift the way he does (nothing to do with his linen suits) it is well worth it. Oh and if you want a proper system, suggest you check out PlayMINI, unless you like the look of tin and scaffolding ![]() ![]() The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive? ![]() |

Offline | It may sound cool but for the money you'll not get much bhp gain. I've read up loads on it. Wibby are you talking about changing the whole system or just the manifold? You'll get more gain by adding the new add on JCW kit. It's cheaper as well. Global Moderator ![]() |

| MINI 2 OLD BOY | Header No doubt about it , do it , your warranty CANNOT be affected as you are only voiding the part you replace! Great ey, yes the new JCW +10 hp mod is cheaper but do u really know what u are getting for you money and lets be honest if u can notice 10hp difference and actually be happy paying that kind of cash for it then no probs! Imo Milltek exhausts are the best available for the MINI at a sensible price , bar none , except the playmini system! lol , Ok so its a hefy chunk of cash to throw at you car but at the end of the day you will get similar power gains as the JCW "update" pack (proven on my car) and it will sound heaps better too. All just my opinion of courseObviouvsly im going to be baised towards Milltek as i have one , and i should be too as i have spent £2210 on performance mods on my car (engine tuning only) and it a sub second 0-60 car , as proven a few weeks back at Silverstone (5.9s) Sorry Dunc ![]() Get the Manifold! Offline | OK Dinka so; "I want to void my supercharger for another with better performance will I lose my warranty?" This sort of question keeps popping up about warranty I think we should say be very carefull about what we can and cant change, best to ask your dealer to be apsolutely safe and perhaps get it in writing.... |

Offline | Wibby, I have done tons of mods on my JCW S, I think Milltek is one of the biggest performane gainer among them. It will worth every penny you throw on the car. A little bit extra noise which I enjoyed so much. In fact, I think that's the music the JCW S should have JCG has also their own header, it should also have good result of freeing up restricted flow. the only prob is how much compare to Milltek?Rgd to better throttle response, not much, unless you put OEM straight mid pipe instead of JCW's, plus 62/63mm throttle body, light weight flywheel, then you will have huge feeling of quicker throttle response. In addition, more powerful breaking system is a must for bhp gains, the OEM break is one weakeast link of balanced performane, my 2 cents. |

Offline | You've changed the whole system Dink, he's just after changing the Manifold. It will sound better but that's not what he's after. The fact that the JCW exhaust isn't as free flowing as a Miltek counter acts any real gain. At least with the JCW upgrade, which consists of new injectors, new air filter and new ECO (so you do know what you are getting ) gives a tried and tested 10bhp gain. You pay's your money you take your choice. Interesting your head cracked with the Hartge, this could be why JCW replace it. ![]() Global Moderator ![]() Last edited by LMB : Oct 3rd, 2004 at 01:28 PM. |
