after market intake tube size?

anyone ever measured the tube size (outside diameter) of any after market intake kit? The stock tube seems to be 2.75" inside. I have a hard time finding a 2.75" tube, so I am just wondering if aftermarket kits use a 3" tube and then reduce it to 2.75" with an adapter. I think most kits use 3" tube, but I can possibly be wrong.

The outside diameter of the intake tube that I have is 2 1/2" and it is aluminum. It is the same size as the throttle body then theres a rubber tube that you slide over both to conect them.

does yours replace the stock rubber tube and clamp directly on the throttle body? or it is a little section that goes between the filter and the stock rubber tube? I measured the inside of the stock rubber tube and it is larger than 2.5" so I was confused if it will take a 2.5" aluminum tube.

Yes the aluminum tube replaces the factory rubber tube then the rubber tube that comes with the intake slides over the aluminum tube and the throddle body then it is clamped on to the throddle body and the aluminum tube.

the $20 kits on ebay usually use no brand cone filter, and shipping is like another $20. I have seen one listing ask for $30 shipping. Got to be careful when buying off ebay. Plus, I want to try Unifilter this time instead of K&N.
