Offline | Alta Supercharger Pulley FITTING?! Hey guys, been looking into fitting the pulley....kinda worried about lifting the engine of its mounts to access the stock pulley wheel. Have some technical knowledge and know how....like have fitted Intake kits to other cars (clio 182, 350Z) and suspension/exhausts but never done any engine work to this extent! Am i competent enough? :P Paul :P |

| MINI2 Senior | It,s not really hard at all. The worst part is the worry that you may be messing up your MCS and that some guy will have to come and flatbead it away to a garrage to finnish your mess. Won't happen. As long as you get the correct tools such as the puller and belt de-tensioner, it's a peice of cake. The motor seems to know just where it came from and drops back into place with very little persuasion. Just take your time and do it slowly. Don't get into a situation that you feel it has to be done in one afternoon. It should take you only about 4 hours if your on it steady. Not to mention that tons of help is here so have no fear. I think you might have this info, but do check out Randy Webb's wes site for a very good "how To" on this http://www.webbmotorsports.com/forum...topic.php?t=17 Let us know how it goes! |

Offline | cheers for the help mate! Found that how to, looks very helpfull....jus one other quick question tho, where can i get a 'belt tensioner tool' didn't think i'd need one of these. Have bought the Alta pulley removal tool and thought that was the only specialist tool required, also i take it i dont need a new belt with the 15% reduction pulley? thanks ![]() :P Paul :P |

| MINI2 Senior | Well, I did mine without the belt tool, but it was the biggest pain in the arss and it wasted a lot of time. Here in the states the tool cost about $60 usd. I ended up buying one because I am replacing my crank pulley and don't want to go through that again without it. Don't need a new belt with the 15%. |
