| Noise from Milltek Manifold + Hi-Flow Sports Cat Hi I've upgraded my Cooper S from JCW 200 to 210 BHP and I'm disappointed - the engine struggles at low revs and its only when you get to the power band the thing takes off. My next move is to fit a Milltek Manifold + Hi-Flow Sports Cat but I'm a bit concerned about the increase in noise. Can anybody give me there experience in this ? Fiacra |

Offline | I've got the Milltek Catback and it's louder than stock, but not as loud as some other aftermarket exhausts. I've only had it a few days but I've noticed it's a deeper noise than the stock exhaust and more raspy. It's quite a bit louder when you're giving it some welly, but idle and cruising on the m-way is fine. |

Offline | You must remember that the 210 conversion is supposed to give you a docile car easy to live with at lower reves, but a flying machine above 4500 revs... this is by design as they say. If you want to get your car hustling, drive it above the rev change point, 4500, not wallow around in low revs and expect the torque to pull you around. Let me know what happens when you get the miltek system, its my next performance mod I think.... there will definatly be an increase in noise, but the standard Works exhaust is nuted by performance car standards anyway.... so should be fun. |

| MINI2 Senior | I fitted the Milltek cat-back system about a year ago, and the sound was just a little deeper than standard, when my car was at West Tuning Ray fitted the Milltek manifold and sport cat, and the sound became even deeper, no need for the radio to be on -wind down the window and enjoy the great sound its not over powering on the motorway either ![]() Graham ![]() |

| MINI2 Master | I've got one on mine and it makes the exhaust note a lot less muffled. Under full load it definately howls a lot better. How can I best describe it? Hmmmm well imagine putting your hand over your mouth and shouting, then replace the hand with a piece of paper....kinda the same effect that you get from the standard system to the manifold with cat. Without a cat it just shouts without anything blocking it!! Very loud indeed ![]() Lotus Elise SC - Collecting 1st April |

Offline | Someone say raspy Agree with everything thats been said really, an excellent manifold all round, sound is not obtrusive in the cockpit, lets the car breath a whole lot better especially when a CAI is added... |
