Offline | Pulley Install, Yes or No? Other than the cost, is there any cons associated with installing a smaller SC pulley? Does it decrease mileage or the driveability? Anyone have first hand experience with the service center in Glenwood, MD that specializes in the new MINI? Their labor charge for the install is $300. I plan to call and find out how many they have done and get the names of some customers. Thanks. |

| MINI2 Senior | I have pricing information from Towson MINI for comparison. It looks like they want $230 for a pulley plus 3 hours labor, so their labor rates are about the same as you are seeing. The nice thing about going with the dealer, imho, is that they won't give you a hard time if there are other warranty issues because they did the work. I was pleasantly suprised to hear the Towson service rep state that an after-market mod would not affect warranty repairs unless it was clearly the reason for a problem. I'm looking forward to people's replies as well. Right now I'm debating between the pulley or the JCW CAI as my first performance mod. The CAI is $400 from Sterling via Roadfly and looks like something I can install myself so it will be a bit cheaper. (And honest, I'm not trying to copy you . Let's see first there were the Toyo Proxes, then I got the parcel shelf (that was because I saw yours), and now a pulley. ) |

Offline | Pulley installed scheduled for 2/21 My dealer, MINI of Towson, is going to install my Alta 15% pulley on 2/21. Labor charge based on 3 hours at $95/hr. This has to be my last mod or I may find myself without a wife! LOL! ![]() |
