Offline | I have noticed a lot of interest on brake kits lately and I don't mean to butt in on anyones input but recently I have been talking to Ray West Tuning concerning an AP Racing x Brembo brake kit and had to share, this entails the best part of AP Racings kit the disc's crossed with the best part of the Brembo kit the calipers, together Ray promises that they are awesome, he uses this combination on the GT cars he has tuned for racing and admits he would not use anything else, now he is producing them for the mini, If there is enough interest I can put the idea of a group buy to him, , if there are any questions that anyone would like answered post them and I will put them to him.. People showing interest.. Offline | West Brembo Quote Rasp, Just for your info, Ray quoted me £875.00 + VAT incl fitting back in mid-Jan for his 310mm Brembo combo. I haven't taken the plunge yet obviously, but a discount now might just tip me to West Tuning and away from the JCW group buy that's also emerging at the moment. Thanks for looking into this for us, Cheers, Fraz The "WORKS" |

Offline | Roger that, hence my thanks to Rasp for guiding me back to the path of Ray West's team. Cost permitting, we should all benefit, avoid the Works 'surcharge' and get a better product. I'm really trying not to divert Rasp's thread into the well-worn JCW debate, so I'd better leave it at that. Those Brembo's look good though and by all accounts do the business. After all, that's what really matters isn't it. Any other Brembo AP-curious Mini2-ers out there? Put your name down and help Rasp's buyer power. Fraz The "WORKS" |

Offline | Definately 310mm. I just re-checked the e-mail he sent. Ray does offer a bigger disc deal - 320 or 330mm I seem to recall from chats with Tony*t3. Tony reckoned the 330mm were probably a bit too much for everyday use on his previous JCW. Ray agreed - hence his offer on the 310's. Fraz The "WORKS" |

Offline | OK been to see Ray at West Tuning and am waiting on him to send a price list for different combo's.. ( 310, 320, 330mmAP disc's with either Brembo or AP racing cals) we have a choice depending on what we are using therm for, ( 330 AP kit for track days only ) he is quoting prices for 10 or more sets so we need more interest like Jones said, this really is an excellent chance to get a truly top set of brakes for I hope an excellent price....Oh for anyone interested I had my car dyno'd today...... 226bhp... 189lbsft torque 6100rpm, not bad... |

Offline | I have noticed a lot of companys are showing 304mm Brembo discs for the mini, these are not going to be listed as part of West Tunings offer... Last edited by rasp : Feb 27th, 2005 at 09:06 PM. |
