Offline | JCW S - further upgrades...? Roland at GT Tuning has told me that several JCW owners have had their cars further upgraded - has anyone on here done it yet....? If so, whats it like...? I'm considering the increased diameter drive pulley, ECU and sports manifold on my JCW, and was wondering if anyones been down that route yet...? |

Offline | I have done mods that have nothing to do with what JCW has done to the engine or the air intake system. I would think it pretty insane to buy such an expensive piece of kit and then modify it, throwing away not only the warranty but also the soundness of the engineering approach. So I have bolted on an intercooler, done some flywheel and clutch mods, would actually fit a manifold if I could find a credible one that would outperform the original. Having seen the JCW seats on MINISPEEDs car the other day at Brands I might go for them if ever I am in a rush to burn their cost, otherwise, any and all other JCW will not find themselves on ole PKT RKT. |

| MINI2 Master | I too am interested in this Tony, but having forked out for a holiday in New York (with my other half which is even more expensive!! ) and also getting 4 new tyres, I'm gonna have to wait a little bit to do it.I think 230-240bhp would be a nice figure to settle with ![]() Lotus Elise SC - Collecting 1st April |

| MINI2 Master | I heard my car for the first time properly today when a friend of mine drove it past on a dual carriageway and it is LOUD! I never realised just how much noise it made. Not just the exhaust but the supercharger as well! First of all you could hear the exhaust going "bwwwarrrppp" then as the car came closer it was a mesh of exhaust and supercharger whine and as it went past and backed off the throttle it just crackled haha!! What a sound! I have got a Miltek exhaust and sports cat mind you ![]() 250bhp....now that would be interesting ![]() Lotus Elise SC - Collecting 1st April |

Offline | I agree with Pocket Rocket, my preference is to not alter any enhancement offered by the JCW package, but improve the "other" components. My thoughts have been centered around the intercooler, cam, i/c runners/intake manifold, and header, in that order. I'm not certain I would want to alter the ECU, since it does indeed contain a JCW-specific program. My dilemma is how much improvement I can expect using the JCW ECU, and still be certain that a/f and ignition timing are at optimal levels. This concern makes me reluctant to change the pulley. There seems to be much more discussion and support of JCW upgrades in Europe, so please continue this discussion, and help this poor Yank decide what to do! |
