JCW upgrade not possible??

My friend just bought a 2005 MCSC Hyper Blue. After Jan 2005 build. The dealer told him because of the new "pulley mountings" that a JCW upgrade would not be possible for him in the future.

I have a 2005 MCSC (August 2004 build) which I converted to the JCW. Anyone have any idea what the dealer is talking about? Is there something with the pulley now that different from earlier in the year?

I just can't believe that's true. Thanks.

Sounds like BS to me - like they would design a change that means you can't have a $8000 JCW upgrade fitted....???

I told my friend that was BS too...why would Mini change the design and possibly lose such an expensive addition?

As a side note...took my JCW MCSC to my first autocross yesterday. I was doing great until the straight line event...couldn't get the rpm's right to keep my wheels from massively spinning (No LSD, 16" all season wheels and poor driver skill)

MCS mounts did change a while back as my old S was different to newer S`s

I agree this is not true...what is the dealer trying to gain by saying that...weird

I know of a new mcs thats just had a JCW upgrade and all is well
