'03 MCS exhaust onto '04 MCS...

Yes, I'm sure you're asking WHY????

I've got a oneballed '04 MCS, and am sick of the sound of the oneball.... I'm helping a friend install a Remus cat back on his '03 this weekend, and he's said I can put his stock exhaust on mine if I like.

I know there was a change in the hangers at the start of '04, so I was planning to just use the outer hangers, however having a look at some threads last night it appears that the hangers actually connect to a 'strap' that goes around the silencer/muffler. Is this strap identical on '03s and '04s apart from the orientation of the hangers? If so, I'll use my existing straps on the '03 exhaust and all will be sweet

I think its to do with the direction of the hangers, not sure which is which, but they point in a different direction on the later cars to the older ones

The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive?

As far as i know, the straps are the same, it is just the orientation of the center hangars. I have an 03 milltek on my 04 cooper s, with no probs

to answer my own question, here's a VERY good diagram showing the differences between the hangers, parts 11 and 12 are the parts that changed (hence the two different parts shown).
