Headers with sports cat with JCW kit?

Hi

I have a 2004 JCW MCS. i'm going to install the Alta 2% crank pulley & the CST software from Essential. Was wondering if anyone has fitted a headers & sports cat with the JCW exhaust system? Will there be benefits?

Any comments or advice please. Thanks

hi,

just wondering how is the Alta 2% crank pulley ? do you find it any useful?
i am interestsed at the alta light weight crank pulley (stock size) do you know is that any good too?

is it difficult to install? i mean does it requires as much work as changing supercharger pulley?

HAvent install it yet. Will do so once i get the new software from Essential mini. Should be able to sort it out this week.
The 2% will make it as if i have chg to a smaller (By 2%) SC pulley.

Hi Alvin,

The cat/header i sell is specially for CST/MTH customers as the software can be specially adapted to make full use of the 400 cell cat (most are only 200 cell and can melt if your running some serious mods) This unit also comes with a TUV certificate to ensure its made to the highest german quality.

Alvin....just an update. Im told the CST manifold will give you an extra 10bhp on top of the file youve had

Hi Folks,

anyone have any idea of how hard it is to swap headers ?

Can it be done with the engine in its place or ?

Anyone has any link on how to do it or information about changing, it will be great.

I asked Randy about that the other day. If you got the JCW 210 kit, his suggestion was to leave the JCW software alone. His suggestion was to go with the lightweight 2%. Check out his review here http://store.webbmotorsports.com/for...opic.php?t=707
adds maybe 7hp. His other suggestion was to go with a GRC IC or similar. Headers may not gain you much and dedepending on the make, cause you emission problems in some state and/or throw codes.

You can add a new catback but you won't gain much of anything. I added a Borla Race but its only like 2 HP

Thanks for the reply. I have the 200bhp JCW software & the Alta Larger IC. Fitted the 2%crank pulley & will be fitting a Schrik Cam next month. Can i use the JCW Software with the cams also? So this mean that the headers are not really worth the cost?
Was at the Sepang track yesterday & i was seing about 130c engine oil temp after like 5 laps. Is this normal?

Impression I got was the headers weren't worth the cost for a small incremental boost. However, the IC, like the GRS, is a bigger boost. If your getting the CAM, can you use it in the JCW head? I'd like to know that too! I think many people get a better head. Again, check Randys site where he sells the better head and the cam together.

For the oil, dunno. I do know that the when I read that people are doing serious track get a much better oil cooler. You might want to check into that
