Organising a pre-meeting on a huge car-park the day before leaving is a good idea. Let's say(for example) we could meet everybody in a hôtel near Basel(Bâle) in switserland, so that on Friday morning, we could start all together. It means that everybody should leave on thursday morning. And on friday evening, we all arrive at the meeting point in Italia. what do you thing?

I think thats a VERY GOOD Idea !!!!
The trip for the dutch Minis/MINIs is a tour for 6 day's to go to Italy

I like it more to STAY 6 day's in Italy after the IMM.

I've called Snoopy today, he is Italian, and he'll try to find us an hotel near the MeetinPOint in Italia.

do you think we could begin to find an hotel in switserland for the Pre-Meeting point?

Thats oke!!
Sleep on the 5th in Switserland and the 6th in the morning driving to the IMM.
By the way, everyone sleeps in a tent in the IMM,
I think it's the best way to do so.

Staying in Switzerland on the night of Thur 05 Jun is a good idea

Not bothered about where or how much, providing the rooms have private facilities, near a restaurant and bar, with loads of parking for everyone

I found an Ibis Hotel on the outskirt of Basel I think, at 99 CHF (about 43 GBP and 67 EUR) per double room, with a paid car-park. Looks good to me

Hotels in Central Basel is double that price at least! Just an idea btw as I do not know the area at all!

With regard to camping in Italy, sorry, but I won't camp - never tried it and too old to rough it!

So I shall stay in a hotel near Ferrara, please

YUP and NSYUP...

I also agree with the Ibis near Basel, and for the hôtel near the IMM... I thing we should find the same athmosphère as if we staid on the site... except if there is no Bar in the hôtel!

The Ibis mentioned in my previous post is about 50km from Basel, it is the Ibis Rothrist Olten.

There is another Ibis with a paid car-park located within the Zurich Technopack complex, at 119 CHF (about 81 EUR and 52 GBP) per night for a double room.

Which one would people prefer? I don't mind either

Once we have decided on a hotel in Switzerland, shall each of us go ahead and book the rooms ourselves?

Rothrist Olten. looks perfect and cheaper than Zurich for the same service.

So, everybody has to make a reservation for 1 night (5-6/6/2003).

If it's Ok for you,It's Ok for Me!
