Hi

i'm getting an apartment in Berlin this weekend but i dont know which area is the best

My option are :

Berlin Prenzlauer Berg
Berlin Wilmersdorf
Berlin Kreuzberg
Berlin Mitte
Berlin Friedrichshain
Berlin Schöneberg
Berlin Charlottenburg

which area would you recommend,

Fabio, it depends what you are after? Each area has something to offer, it just up to you. The Mitte for example is right slap bang in the middle of things, but do you want shops etc?

Berlin is so big, with something interesting round every corner, so it probably doesn't matter too much where you stay. Public transport is excellent, so there will be no worries getting around. Trams etc also run quite late at night, so there's no worries there either

i'd like to stay in a safe area, but where we are near to some nightlife but close to shops also

Maybe ask your question on the German forum of mini2.info instead.
They have an international (english spoken) section

i've posted on BMW MINI Technikforum

but i cant seem to register in mini2.info

i keep getting this back when registering
Der "Empfohlen von" Benutzername existiert nicht.

i'm guessing it refers to the username, if so i have entered a unique username

yeah, that means the username doesn't exist. Guess that doesn't help much

Have you anything booked yet? TBH, you're not going to struggle wherever you are, everything is in close proximity, especially with the excellent trams and buses...

I'd still say Berlin Mitte, and if you need a hotel, try Heckers (it should be on the web); it's clean, very modern, extremely handy, and very reasonably priced...

thanks Carolyn, but the prob is that every hotel in Berlin is fully booked

i'm looking at apartments now, there are loads available and there cheap too!!

The standard of accomodation is usually very high in Germany, and even though prices are really cheap, they are still generally really good, so if you can get an apartment, go for it

we drove by it stopped, ppl were looking at us, the lady opened the door to greet us, The guy i was with got out, but i was not getting out!! I told him "get the Fu*k back in here and lets go", he jumped in and i then told the taxi man to get out of here quickly, i was a bit scarred. He speed off, we had some othere lads in the minvan and they were breaking the **** laughing

You should have seen the look on the lady as we drove off, i thought we were dead men.

WE found a nice lil hotel in the centre ehich was perfect, and it was cheap also, so it all worked out
