Yeah ... but I can fly for "free" (mil) so travel cost is within Germany and lodging. Saw info on the Ring when I was looking for info on my last visit (last summer). But the Corso's the ticket as I am certainly a "virgin"!

Just got back from "MINI on top" where 70+ MINIs arrived from around the north-east US to drive a cool highway and then up the Mt Washington Auto-Road. Very cool ... but it is a 12-14 hour drive just to get to that area. Made a nice 4-day weekend with 3 days spent driving.

Does that qualify me for MINI-insane? Gotta go work on my German though.

We need a new hotel to stay in as the Wilhelmshoe is closed in late October

I like the Dorint Am Nuerburgring. Just my 2c, but they have a great 2 day package , and maybe we could get a group rate.

If not I think that I may just set up a tent and camp.

anand hotels and beer cheap you just use loads of pertol i was getting 14/15 mpg round the ring......

I just tried the hotel web site. Looks like they're are fully booked on 24th October, have rooms on 25th October.

What's the plan from UK? How about:
Friday 24th, get the ferry from UK to France and drive halfway (or more than halfway) to the Ring and stay overnight.
Saturday 25th, complete the journey to the Ring in the morning, spend the day there, stay at the Dorint that night
Sunday 26th, get some laps on the Nordschleife in the morning, drive back in the afternoon, catch the ferry back to UK.

Would the Nordschleife be open on Sunday 26th?
What time would we have to be at the Nuerburgring on Saturday 25th?
Would anybody from UK like to spend more time there? We decided last time it was all a bit rushed, so should we take a day more and play tourist?

Maxim, I'm with you, lets spend two nights overseas and have abeer after driving the Ring instead of blasting back to Blighty.

Bad Man, you up for an extra day off work?

Anand, we spent around £250 per car (based on two people last time but we went to Hamm as well)

QQQ, can I have a go in you mad motor this time?

If we are all up for this I'll arrange some sort of discount for the fery and Hotel again.
