My husband and I are going on a cruise this August. (It's my 30th birthday consolation prize - I mean present ) We will be flying into Frankfurt, and have a couple days before departing from Denmark, then we cruise to Tallin, St P, Stockholm, Helsinki, Warnemunde Germany and back to Denmark.
I would love to meet up with any MINI2ers while we're there. We had a fantastic time in Scotland last month with a group of MINI people - it's a great way to meet people when traveling.
I'm open to any suggestions of places to go in Germany too. We're flying into Frankfurt, and will make our way by train to Copenhagen. We've been to Rothenburg and Bacharach, and enjoy smaller towns like that.
The cruise ship stops for the day 7am - 10pm in Warnemunde, for an excursion to Berlin, but we don't plan to take that excursion, so we will be lokoing for somewhere near the coast to go to.
So, anyone out there that would like to say hello to some MINI American travelers?

I'm from Denmark and I live about 200 km. from Copenhagen.
Just want to tell you that we don't have many MINI owners in Denmark............ so don't expect to meet any Danes in this and other MINI forums!!!

well .. going north from Frankfurt it would be a CRIME not passing by the nürburgring ( near koblenz)
to look and feel the atmosphere of this unique race track..

do it .. and maybe check www.nuerburgring.de to try and book a passenger seat on the M5 or the Viper..

We'll be there July 31 and are just spending that one night. The next day we don't leave on the cruise until 5pm.
We come back on Aug 10 early in the morning and fly to Paris at 4 in the afternoon.
So either day would be great.

Sorry about the late response, but I have been away on business ;-)

Either day would be fine. Since you don't have that much time, I think a drive from Copenhagen to Helsingør (Hamlet's Castle) might be the best way to get some good coastline driving and sigthseeing done ;-)

Sounds great!! I think we will actually come in a little earlier than we thought. Our flight lands in Frankfurt on July 30 early in the morning. We will go ahead and take the train to Copenhagen right away. So we'll be there 2 nights. Will we be OK to just arrive and get a room when we get there? We travel on a limited budget. We're planning to go to Useit and it's not possible to book in advance.
