Offline | i for one would be interested in principle in attending such an international meet. but when you work out the logisitics and costs it proves too expensive in my book. i just couldnt substantiate the cost of going on my own. i dont think its a case of the UK MINI owners not caring about international events, its just outside of what they consider financially sensible. whereas a few will go, im not in anyway condoning those that do go. |

Offline | I guess I am lucky in the sense that I can afford to attend these meets. Having no kids and a very generous husband certainly helps ![]() As for the cost, if one books in advance, like Ray and I did with Eurotunnel, we saved 50% on the tunnel crossing. As for hotels, we are only going to stay with budget 2 star establishments, and petrol is cheaper over there. So apart from the Channel crossing, it should work out less expensive than a few days holidaying in the UK IMHO. Each to their own at the end of the day ![]() DK :apple: |

Offline | Think I have stirred something up here I would hazard a guess that a long weekend abroad costs less than a similar long weekend in the UK One night in Holiday Inn High Wycombe £ 58.00 One night Ibis Hotel Nancy (France) 49.00 euro ( about £35.00) ![]() Another asnwer is that there is no race track oops there I go again stirring![]() |
