Offline | Spot lights Is it possible for a novice to fit spot lights. My mini is 18 months old. i was told by the dealer that it would invalidate the warranty if i fixed them myself. is that true. what spot lights do you recommend. Do the Mini ones look best ? thanks in advance Nick ![]() |

Offline | I'm ordering my driving lights today (even though my car won't be here for another month). In my opinion the MINI lights are over priced and too small even though they look beautiful on the MINI website. I'm going for the Hella ff200 but there are many choices out there. Since I haven't fitted mine yet I don't know exactly how hard it is but I have read some guides and it seems fairly straight forward. As far as I know it doesn't void your warranty but perhaps someone who is more familiar with this could enlighten us. There is quite a bit of information regarding the lights on here and on the northamericanmotoring forums. |

Offline | i fitted the 4 bmw factory option lights to my cooper s then i had the outer pair wired up by bmw it was cheaper than them fitting them but after a while the started to rust ! horrified i asked bmw why considering what the lamps cost they said it was just the material used in their manufacture,ie crappy quality chrome plated in my oppinion,so i changed them for the hella units and used the already wired bmw loom for 2 and the hella loom for the other 2 looked cool ,but now ive changed them again for bigger round stainless lamps even cooler (no pics yet ) id recommend round lamps even though the hellas were bloody bright ! |

Offline | Yes it is possible to fit Spots onto your mini I would suggest that mini OME lamps and brackets are a safe bet. Fitting should not invalidate warranty if you follow instructions at web site minimeet co uk. The wiring can be difficult and you would need some experience in auto wiring. Good luck if you decide to fit yourself, I fitted OME lamps onto my Mini and my dealer coded these for free. I have just had my spots changed out by Mini due to rust and was informed that Mini have a new supplier, must admit spots don't look any different.
