Offline | Hi andyboy21uk I am not 100% sure but I think that once you have the bonnet it's quite easy. It would probably be a good idea to block the scoop from inside the bonnet so that rain and other water can't get onto the engine while it's hot. SuperCharged |

| MINI2 Regular | I fitted the "S" bonnet to Tashas first MINI ONE! It's an easy and straight forward swop, this was done three years ago and I took some flack off disgruntled "S" owners!! But it gives the car a purposeful look WITHOUT the high insurance cost for a young girl!! ![]() Dave |

| P.C. Red Fox | Oh no! Please.... It may look cool, but if your MINI's **** says One on it, its going to look a bit weird, even to people with a very basic understanding of the 3 types of MINI. Plus...EVERY MINI owner who sees your bonnet and your badge WILL snort/laugh. I mean the guy in the photo below...I saw him driving his MINI around Poole...from the front, so thought he was an S.... Then I saw his One exhaust... I broke my 6th and 7th ribs laughing. Oh and for anyone thats going to have a go at me... 08457 909090 |

Online | LOL!!! HAHA, that made me laugh... you love giving out your number. ![]() Well attach the scoop to a ram pipe and attach to a quality induction kit. Nothing like naturally forced induction. ![]() |

Offline | I agree, don't be put off by anyone turning their snobby noses up, do what you want. Go Mini featured a great looking Mini One a few months back that had all the 'S' bits added - looked superb. If we all drove the same cars we wouldn;t be on this website after all.... |

Offline | The point is, what's your motivation. Is it that you like the look of the S-bonnet better? Or do you want people to think you drive an S instead of a One? I'm not judging, I'm just saying, do it for the right reason, and remember that most people will automatically asume you're doing it for the wrong ones. I've ordered my Mini Cooper without badges, just because I like the look of the back end better without the big chrome Cooper-badge. When I tell people they sometimes say: "Why? I could have understood it if were a One, but don't you want to show off you've got a Cooper?" Not really, I just want a car that's exactly as I like it. |

| P.C. Red Fox | Absolutely nothing wrong with a One. I wish my Coops had its fuel economy... Thirsty, thirsty car. But....how about....we say it would be like putting a Mercedes badge on a Smart car? Trust me....I've seen this, and my intercostal muscles still haven't recovered..... I may be only 19, but Im bloody clever! Get in! |

| MINI2 Newbie | MINI Poser, firstly,i hope your ankle gets better as soon as possible. The difference in fuel economy between one and cooper is about 1lit. per 100km.(60 miles, whatever )!Andy is right!mini is all about being different, and i thing that this is one(see one again ) of the important reason that we decided to become mini owners! But it s also sad, as Eelke said, if someone is trying to make others think that his car is something else...the motivation is quite important too... ![]() harrison ford,harris-on mini!!! |

| P.C. Red Fox | Thank you good sire. Tis swiftly recovering....I clicked my ankle yesterday....must have untrapped a nerve coz the pain has gone. Anyway..... Customising a MINI is the best bit about owning the car and also means your car stands out. But don't customise it in a silly way....like sprayin it pink for instance ![]() |

Offline | I'm against this idea. POSER. that's all I can say. couple months ago i saw a brand new MB SLK. I thought it was SLK 55 AMG as it had the badges, and the rims. it was at night so I was impressed. but later on I found out it was SLK 350 with fake badges; it was missing the AMG body kits and quad exhausts. SLK350 is fine as hell as is. So is MINI Cooper One. |

| MINI2 Newbie | The badges are quite a different story.but the exterior styling is up to someones taste!you cant say the putting to an one or cooper bumpers from an s, is an effort of making a fake s.Its much more simple as s"s bumpers are more agressive and the rear centred exhaust is soooooooooo mini... ![]() harrison ford,harris-on mini!!! |

Offline | Quite and interesting debate really, generally the whole car pimping thing throws up some interesting debates. Perhaps the most interesting is the one/cooper, as the car is essentially the same, other than tuning. I can fully understand why people would add things like chrome grill and 16inch wheels to a mini one to make it look better. But why in most cases does this go hand in hand with removing the one badge? Ideally if it's a pimped up (can't think of a better word) one, why can't it just be a pimped up one? Why does it have to be a pimped up mystery car that could be a one or could be a cooper. Unless the real motivation is as suggested to make people think you have a cooper when you really have a one with a chrome grill. If you had a Lohen 145bhp one, would you care if it was labelled as a lohen one, or would you rather no one knew? In the case of the scoup bonnet on a one/cooper, is this really much different from putting any body kit on any car? Generally they don't make the thing any faster or perform better on their own. Do people get these kits because they like the look, or do they get them in the hope people will think their cars supped up? Hard to tell, i'm pretty sure your average kitted nova driver going on cruises thinks people think their car is faster than it is, when in truth most people would not be fooled by it for a minute. The moral no matter what you do to you car, your highly unlikely to impress anyone with what you have done other than yourself. Therefore if you like it do it, if it's to impress others, don't waste your time ![]() Then again if your 17 then peer pressure is a terrible thing to try and live up to.Mind you when i was 17 i was mighty proud of my 8 year old black 1.1 litre fiesta with a slippy cluch. If your 17 now and can get a bmw mini 1 then I think you should be happy enough, and don't go spending your money on anything other than polish to impress people! Ohh just remembered, anyone remember the days when you used to downspec new cars without badges, so the chavers couldn't nick them to wear round their necks, taking half the paintwork off in the process. Or you had the RS turbo badge removed so joyriders didn't nick the car! If this was 1988 now i'd have my cooper badge removed in the hope people thought it was a One and didn't nick it ![]() |
