Offline | Alternative to the Aero Grill Winter project thought... Been thinking of installing the black aero grill on my non-aero bumper MCS (hyper blue/black roof/black stripes/black&white checkered mirror caps). A black grill would help set off the aggressive look I desire. As an alternative to the "standard" aero grill mod, I was thinking that an OEM jet black grill (with chrome surround) would look great too, and keep within the chrome trim theme. Installation of course wouldn't require near the effort of the black aero grill. I imagine the look would be far more aggressive than stock, and fairly unique in that the slats would be gloss jet black, and a stark contrast to the chrome surround and gloss body colors. Has anyone installed an OEM jet black grill on their non-jet black MCS? If so, pics would be great. My search through threads and galleries came up empty. Thanks in advance. Cheers! 2005 MINI Cooper S2007 BMW 530i SMG on order1997 Ducati 748 (sold )Scuderia Ferrari WILL be back in 2006!!! |

Offline | I am going to do this soon (change the chrome grille on a 2006 MCC for the OEM black grille). To get an idea of what the black slat grille looks like, simply configure a MINI One on a configurator, and look at other photos of the MINI One on the website. There is a discussion and photos about grille color on NAM: http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...ad.php?t=48483 |

Offline | Hey Rick, we keep crossing paths! The black grille is now available and I just added a post to the thread with a photo. Classic is a MINI dealer in Ohio and they are a NAM sponser. Their parts department doesn't have a website. You can e-mail them at bmwparts@driveclassic.com for questions and quotes, and call 440-205-6404 to place an order. |
