| Damned | Official MINI Chrome Scoop Now Available Just found out from my local Dealer that you can now order an Official Direct replacement Chome Scoop for your Copper S. Its Not just another one of those Scoop covers, but a complete replacement unit for the absolute bargain price of £70.50 It gets even Better ... Its a John Cooper Works Chrome Scoop Its not even in the latest accessories catalogue yet, {Aug 05 issue}, but you just ask your dealers parts dept to look up the John Cooper Works Carbon Fibre Scoop, {or JCW Air Inlet} as they call it in the book P/N >> 51 13 0 395 502 << {which incidentally costs £145 } & then look for the Chrome Option I think I must have been one of the very first to have ever fitted a Chrome Scoop before anyone was actually making them, See >> http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=39050, so its about time BMW saw sense in actually marketing them ....albeit secretly ![]() ![]() In da Wud |

| Damned | I dont think its that expensive at all. Remember that a standard OEM replacement scoop in a primer finish is around £50- I did a little Price survey on aftermarket chrome scoops just over a year ago and most of the "Complete Replacment", as opposed to "Stick on Covers", were going for around £250- >> http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthread.php?t=70584 << In the end I paid around £60- for a stick on cover, but I`d have definitly ordered one of these official ones had they been available at the time ![]() ![]() In da Wud |

Offline | Has anyone in the U.S. been able to purchase the MINI chrome bonnet scoop (part # 51 13 0 395 502) from a MINI dealer? Not carbon fiber, but chrome. I am having a hard time finding one. Is so, what price did you pay and from which dealer? Thanks |

| MINI2 Regular | Our dealer just checked his parts system. It is only shown in carbon fibre. They are going to check with their bigger dealership to see if anyone knows of this part. I watched him put the details into the system and I have to agree, the screen didn't show any chrome part, only carbon fibre.![]() R56 JCW Cooper S Auto. | 8/10 on the Stoogometer | 408+193.15 i just got quoted AUD 408 + GST (10%) without fitting for the bonnet scoop! what a joke? that's 170 pounds (187 with tax). Who are they kidding? Then I got quoted 193.15 for the chrome boot handle...there's just as much metal in both! Elie |

Offline | BMW Aus are really bad with parts prices... more than once I've laughed at them when they've told me a price. I got quoted on the chrome interior parts, got a quote back of about $450ish supply only, sent an email back saying "Sorry mate, I can get them for half that price shipped from Mini UK". |

| 8/10 on the Stoogometer | i think i understand what happened this morning..... that $408 was quoted for me by South Yarra Bib Stillwell, and i think he misunderstood me. I think he gave me the price for the CF Bonnet Scoop, cos i rang BMW Melbourne on kings way, and they quoted me 216.70... As soon as my exams finish, and i start workin again, i'm getting one... Hey kev, i think i might do a DIY job on the chrome interior parts, following a DIY guide on this site, how do I go about ordering the stuff from MINI UK? | Premier League | Here's a couple of very quick photos of the chrome grill on my MCSC. Apologies for the second one being a bit fussy, I was nearly run over by the car looming in the background. And then the batteries died etalj - I'll try and find out how you can order the bits, I'll get back to you ![]() Last edited by k m s : Nov 12th, 2005 at 03:16 PM. |
