Today i drove my mini cooper through the local car wash, got home and pulled onto the drive. I needed to fill my water tank up so opened the bonnet, As I went to lift the bonnet I noticed the bottom of the bonnet stripe had lifted and teared. (I take it this is down to the car wash)

To fill you in on the car its a 55 plate cooper purchased 01/11/05 will my local dealer replace the stripe under warranty as I believe they are meant to be car wash friendly and the car is only 2 months old!! Im worried that they are going to make me pay for a replacement and at there prices they can forget it!!

Any help or advice would be great.

you can try and see what they say, the stripe shouldn't come off in a car wash, but to be fair you shouldn't be putting a MINI in a car wash, oh the swirl marks, the swirl marks

I was desperate Rakey but normally I hand wash. Desperation...leads to car washes and it was rubbish came out dirtier than I went in, and now im screwing

go stand in the corner until you can behave yourself

Your dealer should change it stripe under warranty

I had my UJ roof decal changed after a couple of edges got torn whilst removing snow and ice from the roof

desperate times lead to desperate things - I apologise she wont be going thru the car wash again. I will bring her to one of you at a time every weekend for you to clean her

I will take her tomorrow to the dealer so will let you now the outcome!!!

Seeing as you're disgusted with me, you wash my car first, get rid of those "swirl marks" hehe

and then when you take me on this trip round europe (remember our previous convo) ill wash yours upon our return

never used a car wash, never used one of those hand wash places either, just learn to deal with a dirty car in winter
