How much is it reasonable to pay for viper stripes? they are going to be retrofitted by my dealer. Stripes are £100, how much should fitting cost? (The dealer is suggesting 4-5 hours labour)

.....now this is where i find thats really expensive

I fitted my own stripes front and back and it took about an hour.
But then again the dealer is always overpriced.

4-5 hours??? they going to fit them blinfold?

I would go to a reputable sign shop & get them done. It will cost you a fraction of the price. Most dealers sub that kind off work on anyway & add a nice little % for themselves.

Just what I was thinking.

Got mine done at a company that my dealer used anyway.
Cost £165 designed and fitted. (I added pin stripes.)

Still can't get over the 4-5 hours

How much do they charge per hour these days?

I know plenty of people that do that kind of thing for a living, they could do it in an hour with a couple of tea breaks

The stripes themselves cost only a few quid to make these days so there is some serious mark up.

just out of intrigue, how much would a custom full roof graphic cost? what goes into making it? would it be designed on the computer and then 'printed/die-cut' out? intrigued

Most are cut out of vinyl on a machine like this...

Some of the roof ones are printed though. We actually supply the machines to Sign making companies that produce that kinda stuff.

my sisters cost just over £200 for roof and bonnet stripes, but a lot of that was the designing.

I thought that 4-5 hours was long, but I had no info to base my jugement on. I am keen to get it done at my dealer, and I think will have to pay for the privlage.

not sure how much a custom roof graphic would cost you, suppose depends on what you require. Try the COOPER FLAGS website. As far as the cost of fitting a full roof graphic i was quoted 99 notes plus vat.

Most dealers don't do it themselves, they get somebody in that's the point.

Why pay a middleman?

I had some made at a local graphics shop they quoted me £99 supplied & fitted but when I went to collect car they said they would never fit them again as it had taken two of them over 4 hours to fit and based on that they should have charged £450!!!

i had to get mine done twice. because the guys in the workshop couldnt put them on straight! note to anyone in glasgow :

Don't go to Henry Brothers dealership for the love of god. service is poor people that work there are stuck up and condescending.

Sounds cheap to me! We got ours done at the dealer when the car was delivered as we needed it done quickly (as our wedding was shortly after pick up and we wanted the car finished) and we paid £400! We knew it was expensive at the time though. Rang round all the local dealers, and they were all quoting £300+. This is down south though!

Im having some fitted this week (from action graphics in brum). Its costing me £140+vat to supply & fit & theyve told me they'll only need the car for 3 hours so make sure they ay tryin to rip you off with the labour
