"S" Stripes On Standard Cooper Can It Be Done??

The stripes that come on the Cooper suck. I was trying to find JC Signature stripes to have installed but that was impossible. I am now down to trying to have the "S" stripes fitted to the Cooper. Can it be done??

They stripes are exactly the same, if you want John Cooper Signatures, these are seperate vinyl stickers and can only be purchased (legally ) from www.johncooper.co.uk

The S stripes have black edges and add tremendously to the appearance of the car. The Cooper stripes are one color without the black edging.

Those Cooper ones do have a stripe, when the car first came out there was only the non-bordered one but they sell the black border ones too.

I sharpened the above image, you can see the border:

The Indi one doesn't have the border stripes. I think the sharpened version just darkened the blue border around the white (in my experience most sharpening algorithms do this). I think they are just like Indi's (my lovely Indi ) and solid white. I like them better, but on the DS, WOW those black borders really are nice!

Whose car is that? I can see the borders in the non sharpened one The only person who can answer this is the owner!

Anyway, I have seen three Coopers with bordered stripes, Jnr_Seahorse has one (I think), the other two were at my dealers...

The plot thickens...

the MINI has gone...

I don't think mine has lines on the stripes, its a bit difficult to tell from the photos:

I would run out and find out for you, but as you all know, Guzzle's in hospital after a near death experience.

I think you can have the choice

I have seen BMW stripes that are not bordered and BMW stripes that are, all on Coopers...

It probably depends on your dealers. They might have different signs peoples at all the different places. Didn't think there was one official part no for them.

There are proper part numbers now

As I said, when the car first came out there weren't any available and everyone was asking for them. Most dealers, keen to make a quick buck, got their local graphics place to make and fit them. Hence why they were plain white.

Now, they are available (with and without borders) - I will try and find the part numbers later

The black border is actually printed on the vinyl next to the white, not seperate bits.

Its the same with the Union Jack and chequered roofs, they weren't available at the start and graphics companies were commissioned to do them

the MINI has gone...

Whoa, my car!

Whoa, that was a surprise! Here I am scrolling down, and then... BOOM!!! There's my car, right in front of my eyes! But it wasn't posted by me!

Thanks though, QQQ. I always love looking at my ride. Almost better than a Playboy centerfold! Wait a minute, MINI WAS a Playboy centerfold...

Yep, that's my baby, with the MINI of Hawaii plate...

Oh, by the way, the stripes are the standard Cooper bonnet stripes. There is no black border. I think the border has to be on a lighter-colored car to make it effective. On the silver MINI, it has a tremendous impact, but on mine and maybe even BRG, unless you were up close, it would be hard to tell it was even there.

Unhappy Will they last???

Bonnet stripes look great, however, after a few washes, will they start to peel off, scratch or generally look a bit crap?? How are your bonnet stripes holding up? (the BMW fitted ones)...........

Mine aren't BMW ones but they are just vinyl so should be comparable... Had them on there for about 8 or 9 months now and they still look as fresh as the day they were fitted
