Which High Beam Lamps to use

I have xenons for low beam but the high beam are pretty pathetic. Been looking at fittinng new globes (bulbs for UK'ers). Looking between Crystalvision from Phillips and Xenon from Hella. Anyone had experience of which is better?

The (northern hemisphere) names may be different but the bulbs are probably the same.

IMO you're not going to dramatically improve your high beams with a simple globe upgrade. I don't really believe the magic numbers (eg. 50% more light etc) that are on the labels. If you want to make a big improvement I reckon you'd need to up the wattage (at your risk) or fit some driving lights. I have the OEM driving lights, and while they may not be as bright as some 100w aftermarket spotties, they do make quite an improvement for night time driving on the open road.

Agreed, the bulbs make the light brighter but no better coverage/range. Plus the spots look
great on a Mini .

Thanks everyone...will have to look at DL's then. Must say that for a car that can do 200+ KPH the high beam is pretty pathetic.

I find the stock high beams very good, after I corrected the factory aim.

See here for correct aiming; http://www.danielsternlighting.com/
