DIY Installing US-sidelights / -reflectors

I've ordered the US-sidelights/reflectors!!!

I know how to install at the front, but rear I don't know how to do it. How is wire fits at the taillights? At front is simple; you keep in the bumper.
But at rear; you have to go from wheelarcher to the taillights in the carrosserie.

Has some one some picture's and some explainations for me?
The way from wheelarcher to taillight...?

In forward thank you!

On one side you can feed through a grommet that is already there for the rear light in the bumper (fog/reverse depending on age), on the other side you have to make a small cut in the rubber grommet to feed the wire through, it is tricky.

Thanks for reply!

I've looking and indeed right is a rubber grommet, but left not. So I've to put both wires trough the grommet. The wire of the left US-light I will let follow the wire of the fog light and then behind the interieur to the left side. I hope the wire would be long enough.

There is a grommet on both sides, I've done this to my own car (2006 Cooper S) and I know it's the same on my wife's car (2002 MINI One). It's small, and there's no hole so you have to cut it. The wire's not long enough (although you could extend it), then you'd also have to find a way of routing it across. It could work though.

I've looked again, indeed there is a rubber grommet at left side. These is smaller than at the right side and it was difficult to see becouse it was PW (mine carcolor).

Just be careful to not let it fall behind the body work as there's some small areas it can get lost in!

Do you mean that I've to make a small hole (wire thickness) what I've marked with a red circle?

Yes, looking at the image that's the right grommet. I pushed mine out (careful!) and made a pin prick hole in the rubber to pass the wire through.

Another question:
There is going a (electric) plug in to the backside of the (tail-)lampunit, you can see the wires. I need two of these wires, cut them and reconnect them with the wires of the US-sidelights. What wires -> color must I cut?

Sorry for the questions...

I can't remember which wires I fed from, I worked it out by unplugging them from the light unit and switching on just the sidelights, and finding out which wires gave me light!

I installed the sidelights/reflectors.
There is only one problem: in the situation light is on, sidelight are on too. When I brake the sidelights going off till I stop with brake.

Is this normal or what do I wrong?

Must be some problem with the way you have it wired, it should not do that! I'd take apart the wiring and make sure that nothing is touching any wire or circuit boardit shouldn't be.

I will change the connecting the wires tomorrow.

At the moment is the situation:
- lights on, side lights on too; when I brake the rear sidelights going off
- lights off, side ligths off too; when I brake the rear sidelights going on

stupid

I would say you have connected the negative wire from your arch lights to the brake light wire & not an earth wire.

The only other way this will happen & we see it all the time on all cars is you have fitted the wrong bulb into the brake/sidelight position

there are five wires:
- earth
- taillight
- brake ligth
- return light
- flashing light
Could you tell me the order of the wires?

I've mented to connect the wires of the arches to the first two (earth and taillight), maybe is the second brake light and the third normal-light. I will try it tomorrow.
When the situation is that I've connected to at the brake light, its strange the archelights going off when I brake. Its also strange the archelights going on when I put the lights on.
