Different wheel centres and 17" S Spoke Copies?

Hi guys. My dad has just got a cooper s and is looking to get a spare set of S spokes (R85's) there is a chap local to us selling a decent set with decent tyres for a reasonable price, however the photos I've seen show a winged badge in the wheel center, and not the usual plain MINI logo.

Are there copies out there? And if so does anyone have any experience of them?

Are there any features to look out for to ensure that they are genuine?

Many thanks in advance,
James

I'm not sure whether there are 17" S spoke copies out there, or what distinguishes genuine wheels from replicas, but I do know its possible to change the centre badges as I've fitted JCW ones to my S-spokes.

Couldn't find any with a wings badge in the gallery. Should look like this...

I recently fitted a set of second hand 16" S spoke replicas.
They had the WINGED MINI centre badge on them.
I'd guess the ones you looked at are replicas.
I'm VERY happy with mine.
I prefer 16's to be honest.
I also replaced the centre badges with 'correct' MINI worded badges for the proper
look.
Check out my gallery for WINGED and MINI centre badge pics on my 'S' spokes.

I think the opposite he said the set he looked at had the plain MINI and he had seen pics of them with MINI wings which must be the replicas.

Cheers guys. Just been to look at them (they can be seen on ebay if anyone is interested, just do a search for "17 R85"):

And they are indeed non-genuine, also fitted with non-runflats, but thats not really the point. I thought the centres looked a bit odd.

So the search continues! Thanks for your help.

James.
