New style headlights

Hello

I really like the new version of headlights that come with the newer version of mini's,
mine is a 53 plate.

I was just wondering if it would be possible to swap them over? A guy is selling just the headlight part and not the whole xenon module, so if i bought this off him could
swap them over with my lights and just hook it up to my xenon module and have
fully functioning new style xenon headlights.

The pic shows what part he is selling.

This pic shows my headlights

Can this be done or will i have to buy the whole light from BMW?

Willie

think so, but you'd have to check for sure, almost certain the car would need re-programming aswell. I did think about retro fitting these myself but my dealer quoted over £500, so left it. nylo has had the conversion done

It looks from here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.d...20&hg=63&fg=05 that the module/electronics etc. are unchanged, but I do no know for sure.

The official instructions on MotoringFile - http://www.motoringfile.com/files/2005_headlights.pdf say it's a simple physical swap over, but with coding required... also that cars built before 09/03 require the electronic body module to be changed.

As long as they're for pre-05 model year cars, yes they will, if not, they'll still fit but will require some re-wiring (easy to do). If they do not have reverse lights in the main cluster you'll be OK, othewise you'll need to do some wiring etc.

Yup, what he said. Fitting time is about an hour or so, so it's not a hard one, but there are some electronics which need to be reprogrammed
