Question Driving lights + Xenons?

Hi, dumb question here.

I ordered my MCCa with the Xenon lights, and I'm thinking of adding a pair of Driving lights (Spot lights, fog lights, whatever). So the question is:

Is this overkill in terms of visibility? or in other words, Is there any point for the driving lights other that they look cool?

thanks,
Carlos

My opinion is that the Xenons are going to offer plenty of light PRIMARILY straight ahead, though they are pretty decent at lighting up the sides as well. BUT, for added side visibility, just aim the driving lights ever so slightly to each side and get insane coverage! Very safe too

you'd be surprised how much extra light you get with a good pair of driving lights. i have the hella ff200's & the beams are huge both length & widthways. how much you get to actually use them is another matter

I have the xenons but as they are only for the dipped beam I found the main beam to be very poor, I fitted a pair of driving lamps (main beam) and night driving is so much better!

I have xenons and the OEM driving lights; IMHO the OEM lights are for looks only. They add virtually nothing when in use, since they can only be used with the highbeams.

they are normally wired to the highbeam so they only come on when highbeam is on

I think it depends on how much driving you do on unlit roads, Im out in the sticks with little traffic most of the time so the extra power for main beam is great for me, but I suppose if its all lit road driving with lots of traffic about then I agree the MB aint going to get used a lot.
