Question Good idea / Bad idea

Had a good look through all-black cars galleries & can't really see if anyone has tried this before. I was going to get some chrome repeater elements, but thought I'd try this first as I'm a bit worried about over-chroming my car.

Comments appreciated as I'm still thinking about the same for the inlet grilles under the windscreen.

Thumbnail doesn't quite do it justice - I forgot to take pic before, but it really is much blacker & glossier than original plastic

I have gone back and forth on the chrome thing also. I don't have a chrome line exterior so I decided adding chrome didn't really fit. I went with switching the orange indicator to white and kept the black grille (car is HB/HB Cooper) I think this looks really clean and sharp. The orange clashed with blue!

Australia Good Idea / Bad Idea

As a bit of a chrome freak, I like the chrome retro look in those side lights. Though having said that, I think if you don't have the chomeline exterior, gloss black looks OK too.
But I would never chrome my air intake vents ahead of my windscreen.

For me, I think I would either go chrome or body coloured. "Matt black" they matched your arches, gloss black, they don't really match anything?

Has anybody seen any side grilles in white? It might complement a white roof and alloys quite nicely?

Yeah - just like those - didn't really think I was only one to have tried this. These look a bit better than mine as well. Still it's just an experiamnt at the moment. Am think of having arches & sills done - this was first step in deciding whether to have body-colour or gloss black. I'm not sure BEP coloured sills & arches would look right??

I'm thinking along the lines of eveything either BEP, chrome/clear or gloss black, but I'm not sure that all BEP is going to look good or not & I don't want to over-chrome the thing - so trying to use gloss black to break it up a bit.
