help needed on aero grill

from reading the PDF about fitting the aero grill it says you have to re-use the old bolts.
Has anyone else found that these bolts are the wrong shape and do not fit.Even went to BMW's and they gave me exactly the same bolts!

If its the washer type nuts, flatten out the center and they should fit and grip better. Good luck
