How does this combo look? Will the rubber plugs (used when the roof rack isn't installed) match the decal?

I've seen the checkered roof with the roof rack - the rubber plugs matched the decal underneath - two black, two white. But I don't know if the owner had bought an extra set of plugs, or if it came that way.

I should imagine you can get them painted whatever colour is needed, BMW probably don't recommend having it with the roof as they can't be bothered to sort out the blanking plugs
