I'm just wondering if a photograph or an image created in photoshop. can be somehow transffered on to a mirror cap. And, would it look any good (quality etc)

Anyone have any ideas?

I know photos can be made up into vinyl, I think it was Rakey that had a photo of Michael Caine in the Italian Job on his roof - so I don't see why a mirror cap couldn't be done

It can be done but you need to have a vector of the petrol cap to allow the vinyl to be designed with any bends/bulges in mind. If you are putting it onto a flat surface its easy peasy

I had my roof design custom made with vinyl with a 12 year guarantee against fading.

Printed ink fades earlier than full color vinyl. You can't make photo's from full color vinyl though, photo's have to be printed.

How much sooner printed vinyl fades I have no figures of, I suspect there is much varaiation in ink quality as there is also in vinyl quality. Printed vinyl also gets a coating to protect it from fading.

So it can be done, but I suspect it will be very difficult to get the vinyl onto the mirror without any folds as the mirror caps have lots of roundings.
