| Loving It! | Aero Kit Hi everyone, I've been phoning around today to get prices for the full Aero Kit (sideskirts, front and rear bumber and the mesh grill) and I've been quoted 2 prices, but I don't know how reasonable they are so was looking for a little help! The first quote is from my local Mini garage (Rydale Central) and they said they would supply and fit the kit for £1180. The salesman said that this was a "special offer" price, but I don't know if this is true or not. The second quote is from www.mstylemini.co.uk. They quoted £1056 for the supply and fitting and also said that for an extra £150 (+ VAT) they will supply and fit the colour coded arch kit. The difference between the two places (apart from the prices) is that the Mini garage is a local 5 minute drive away, and the other place will require a drive 130 miles! I also don't know how good a job www.mstylemini.co.uk will do, although they do offer a 6 year guarantee on the paintwork. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated! . . : Atif : . . |

Offline | all depends on where you are and if you are willing to try and fit the kit yourself ![]() the cheapest place I know of is Prestons in Colne, and they give great service as well as great prices ![]() Give them a call and ask for Dale ![]() The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive? ![]() |

| Loving It! | At the moment I am leaning towards MStyle. They seem to have a lot of good feedback and the price (approximately £1206), for the kit supplied and fitted, with the wheel arches colour coded seems to be very reasonable. Plus I don't want to fit it myself - no matter how easy it is I have no doubt that I will break something or mess something up!! . . : Atif : . . |

Offline | I could fit it for a small fee seriously. However it isn't that difficult its just having the confidence to "break off" the side skirts (yes really) thats the hard bit. ![]() |

Offline | well if you want to pay a bit more then go for Mstyle, but I thought you were looking for the best price ![]() and at least if its supplied and fitted by MINI its covered under your warranty ![]() The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive? ![]() |

Offline | If you read his post its cheaper for M style, the price he quoted above is with colour coded archs also which bumps the price up ![]() So long as the paint doesn't peel off there is no worries with Warranty work being needed on the aero kit. Hell maybe M style could do a better job of painting it than BMW, the number of peeps who complain about stone chipping on the Aero bumpers (although my cooper Aero front was practicaly spotless )![]() |

Offline | as much as I would love colour coding, theres far too many people that complain about peeling and stone chipping to make it something that would sell the aero kit more to me ![]() isn't the aero kit stone chipping just common no matter where its fitted/supplied? the bumpers are far more flexible/thin and also explains why they are cheaper than stock The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive? ![]() |

Offline | Thiner than stock? Having had the bumpers off on all but a face lifted cooper, I'd say the bumpers are no differant. The Aero bumpers are all one piece (the plastic is just painted on), where as the standard bumpers are several pieces. But my Cooper's aero kit bumper wasn't have as bad as some of the ones I've seen and I'd done 30+k ![]() |

| Loving It! | Bad news .I've just spoken to my car insurance (direct line) and they said that they won't insure me if I have the aero kit put on. I've just had my policy renewed last month for the year as well! They said that I have to be 25 or over to be covered and I'm 24 next month so still have 13 months to wait! I was really looking to get it done as well .I think I may decide to have my windows tinted instead and have the front speakers upgraded (already have an aftermarket stereo). The aero kit may have to wait another year. . . : Atif : . . |

Offline | I cant believe your insurance said that to you, thats crap! its only a front bumper,sideskirts, and a rear bumper that are slightly different to the standard look of the car! Or maybe the aero kit adds 20bhp that i dont no about? On topic tho Mstyle give a 6 year warrenty on all paint work they carry out which is pretty amazing! a l t a - j c w - e i b a c h - u l t r a - g t t m i l l t e k - s p e e d l i n e |

Offline | Find another insurance company, Atif. You won't regret getting the arches coded, it really finishes off the Mini, although on CR the arches look best black, IMO. Lies need defending all the time. The truth defends itself. |

Offline | I had this problem too atif, I am with Churchill and tried to add on the JCW Exhuast but wouldnt because it added BHP which was about 2-3, but still said no. I had to be 25+ to add the exhaust. Same as the Aero Kit i was declined and over 25+ too! I did complain but i got nowhere - they just declined it again! Churchill & Direct Line are part of the same group, so both have the same policies! Im going to move to another insurer at renewal , as i dont want an insurer that doesnt let me do what i want! Sig Coming Soon.. |

| Loving It! | Yeah i've decided to do the same - the only problem is that I renewed my insurance in March this year so have to wait until the same month next year . I'm thinking of just getting the aero side skirts from the group buy, and not telling my insurance company about it - I haven't decided whether I should yet though ![]() . . : Atif : . . |
