Online | I've found the perfect aftermarket spotlights for what I want, PIAA 002 series lamps, but I want to fit them myself. Is fitting and wiring them up a simple/medium/difficult task and would I need dealer activation like the OEM ones? Thanks Lies need defending all the time. The truth defends itself. |

![]() Obsessive Car Cleaner OCC | INSTRUCTIONS FOR FITTING 5” WIPAC DRIVING LAMPS 1.Measure the distance from either side of the front grill, pick a spot were you want the lights and make sure it’s an even distance from either side. If you have an aero grill you will have to cut holes in the grill for the brackets to fit. 2.Use self tapping screws or pop rivets to secure the brackets in place, the upper screw on the bracket will attach to the double skin on the inside of the bonnet (DO NOT GO THROUGH THE BONNET) put electricians tape under the screws to stop the self tapping screw slipping around. 3.Attach the lights to the brackets. You can use the same sort of wire for all the wiring in this, preferably a decent thickness one. When cutting all the wires to length place the relay in the position that you will keep it and then measure the wire length from there! i placed it behind the right headlight. 4.Connect a wire from terminal 30 to the positive of your battery use an inline fuse anywhere between this, preferably one with a blade type fuse which is the same ass all the fuses in your car! 15AMP Minimum. 5.Connect a wire from terminal 86 to the positive wire on your high beam, this will switch the lights on when you put your high beam on then fit an inline switch so you can turn them off from the inside of your car (you need to splice in the wire on your high beam I used a scotch block). 6.Ground the relay from terminal 85, the best ground on the car is the main battery’s ground!! 7.Connect 2 wires from terminal 87 using one (1) spade connector, one to each light ( if you use one wire and fit both lights to it then one of the lights will come on first then the second! ) 8.Then tidy all the wires up and secure the relay somewhere, I placed it behind the headlight! NOTE:- I DID NOT AND BMW DO NOT FIT AN INLINE SWITCH WITH THESE LIGHTS AS THEY COME ON WITH YOUR HIGH BEAM WHEN IN POOR VISIBILITY! BUT SOME PEOPLE LIKE TO HAVE THEM ON WHEN STATIONARY ETC SO HAVE AN INLINE SWITCH TO DO THIS. Also BMW do NOT Actually code in any lights in, the even explain this in there own instruction! Thats how i fitted them guys and they worked fine!
