Offline | minicore. I also want to remove the stripes on my silver cabrio. They distort the clean look of the bonnet. How do you get them off without damaging the paintwork? |

| obsessive | fromt what i hear, hard work and a gentle touch it the only way, i think the key is heat it up with a hair dryer and start to peal them off, pulling up wards and not back, then clean the area and polish a few time to get rid of the left overs i am not planning on using any tools other than hands unless anybody else knows any better ![]() |

| obsessive | I have gone against the croud and given my car a little trim. the stipes are gone. what an easy job that was, i thought about the hair dryer, but in this heat i took it for a hard drive round a few corners and got the engine really hot, i got it back in the garage and started to peal the stripes off from the windscreen end They came right off leaving only a small residue arround the outer edge. proberly old car polish build up, i gave it a 3 stage wax, finishing with canuba wax and what a result. total time 30 mins max i love it! clean lines and beautiful paint check the pic a good one to follow if i can fand my camera. what do you think ![]() |
