| obsessive | im not too bothered about the race thing but one of the other reasons was, i saw the Mini GP2 coopers s bonnet vinal round the air intake and i think i may have fallen for it big time. nice cream mini i think you should leave yours as the contrast is fantastic ![]() |

Offline | I'm not especially bothered about the race thing either - most of the time, I'm more than happy to thrash a sh*tty Nova or Corsa at the lights, or leave some other hot hatch behind on the twisties... but it gets sooo tedious on the morning drive to work sometimes! ![]() The new GP scoop decal is pretty cool though! And thanks - if I take the stripes off, I'll get a black grille, so I don't entirely lose the contrast. Now driving a 2006 Brabus Roadster Coupe PW/B Cooper S Works has gone to its new home! |

Offline | I started with a Purle Haze MCS, black roof & caps but no stripes. Then I added stripes -- it feels so much more like a MINI with them. I'm picking up my new MINI tomorrow -- Hyper Blue MCS, white roof, caps & stripes. I am a stripe convert! I do think it really just comes down to personal space. But then again, I've also not noticed anyone treating me differently since I added them, as far as racing and whatnot. When I had mine added, they weren't quite even, so they had to take them off and re-apply -- so certainly it can be done without a problem. |

| Me again | I dislike stripes and most graphics with a passion - guess they are just not for everyone ![]() My way of thinking is why spoil such a beautifull car with bits of plastic stuck all over it. If you really want something that looks good i would go down the custom graphic and be individual - the way MINI is meant to be Stripes are just so common and so "uniform" these days.Paul |

Offline | I took the white stripes off my CR/W MC after about two years. Within a month I missed them and ordered a new set. It seems to attract a little more attention with the stripes and I suppose I like that. ![]() Robert Stancliff Sr. |

| Amiga 500 to PS3 20 Years | The stripes looked fantastic on the classic as they had a definitive edge to line up against. I've never liked the factory stripes as head on they never look to be in the correct position as there isn't a line on the car for them to follow. I much prefer vipers as these run parallel rather than at a slight angle although never gone for them myself. Really shows in the two pics M11NYL has posted that the stripes do make the car look significantly different though. ![]() It was acceptable in the 80's |

Offline | I asked for the dealership to remove the stripes off my MINI before final delivery (there are a couple of photos of my MINI before having the stripes removed in my gallery). And, I must confess that I'm happy I decided not to keep them! After 17 months with my car I've never seen another LY/W without them! ![]() But, it's not that I don't like bonnet stripes, I guess that it has to do with the MINI's colour, wheels and exterior accessories, and especially with the owner's personality! I just thought that stripes didn't fit with my personality. I think EB/W MINIs look better with bonnet stripes, just as I think LY and CR look better without them! It's a matter of personal taste! ![]() |
