Damage Limitation

I had a little prang today in my Mini One, reversed into a concrete pillar - before anyone says no it did not jump out at me! The rear bump is non-repairable, and there is a dent above it in the left rear quarter panel, which I think could be knocked out (however the Mini dealer seemed to think I'd need a whole new rear quarter)

Wondering what my options are... Having spoken to Mini they've quoted me £1500 as a ball park figure. For that money though, surely I could buy an Aero kit and fit it myself, and pay a garage to knock out the dent for £100...

Anyone got any feedback to this that may be of use?

Many thanks

I cracked my rear aero bumper and no suprise the dealer told me id need a new one At a cost of something like £300+ from memory

Cut a long story short I got the rear bumper fixed so shop around, you might not need a new rear panel!

Providing they can access the dent and the paint is not damaged you should be able to get a PDR (paintless dent removal) guy out to sort it for you. Make dure you go for a recommendation if you can too. The best ones to use are the ones that have contracts with full bodyshops for their simple jobs (and workshop prangs )

It was acceptable in the 80's
