Anyone fitted diadem bulbs?

Here goes....my first new thread.....

Just spoken to me dealer about the use of osram diadem bulbs in my '55 plate park lane.

My issue was that i dont want to invalidate the warranty on the vehicle.....so i thought i would see what they thought!

They are now telling me that using them would invalidate that part of my warranty! even tho they are e-marked and road legal for use in the UK!!

Does this seem a little mad to anyone else?? I'm just fed up of the fried egg look in my front and rear indicators!

What do you guys think....

Personally, I reckon that is a load of cobblers. How can a globe of the same sepcification, wattage etc void a warranty. Sounds like BS to me. That said, the Philips SilverVision indicator globes are better anyway.

You can see a comparison in this thread:

Cheers Liam

minigolf beat me to it, and I have to agree with everything he says. Philips Silver Vision bulbs are the way to go - less blue looking and brighter.

Ok, sounds like the silver vision ones are the way to go....

Have any of you guys had problems with main dealer servicing etc with them fitted? any questions asked about them?

May go for silver vision in the rear, and diadem in the front. just to be differant lol

Look at www.newminsituff.com, they have a selection for the MINI (silver vision etc.). No warranty issues, that's just rubbish.

Okay, I know I'm in Australia and our dealers might be different, more lenient, whatever ... but with an aftermarket CAI, pulley, exhaust and lowering springs I had the steering rack on my car replaced under warranty ... no questions asked. Quite what an aftermarket indicator bulb could do to your car I'll never know. Moreover, a globe would be considered a consumable item (I imagine) and therefore so long as you're not altering the wattage etc then I fail to see how BMW can force you to use the globes they specify??? Nor deny a warranty claim should one be required.

Change the globes already!
