Offline | Spotlight with main beam Hi Searched for an answer but couldn't see anything... Just had some original spotlights fitted to the wife's cooper by a main dealer and wondered if you can get the spotlights to work (with a reduced brightness) with the normal headlights rather than just full beam? According to the better half, she has seen some Mini's driving around with the spotlights on along with the HL, almost at sidelight brightness. If so, how do you go about getting this done? Thanks Rob |

Offline | It is my understanding that it in UK it is a legal requirement that Spotlights are linked to main beam so that they only come on an thus go off at the same time as you switch to / from main beam. What your wife might be referring to is running lights in the spotlights these are a separate low wattage bulbs that come on with dipped beam - gives the look of the lights being on but is for effect only. Commonly seen on trucks. Snowie |

Offline | I think "Halo" Sports are available from one of the Sponsors on here. A ring of light (done with L.E.D's I think) around the spot is illuminated with Dipped Beam, then the whole of the spot illuminates with main beam. But that is not the O.E.M sport light set, that only has one bulb in each spot, so you can't achieve the truckers look with these, Unfortunately!!! |

| MINI2 Master | I have the spotlights on mine, OE ones, i was thinking of getting some ultra high wattage bulbs for em, does anybody know what bulbs they have in them for replacement purposes. PS they are the **** and make driving down the back roads at this time of year seem like a rally stage. |
