Red Cooper AERO wiper blades retrofit

Just been out in the rain (again) to fit new wipers to my MCS.
Decided to have a change and went for retrofit AERO wipers from www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk.

They fit a treat and stay touching the windscreen throughout the sweep.
They are also MUCH quieter than the cheap refills from Halfrauds they replaced.

Though a little more expensive @ £11 each you do get a FREE pair of upgrade sidelight bulbs thrown in if your order is >£15, which a pair are.

You need to order the 19" length :-

Retro-Fit Aero blade 19" :: Retro-fit Aero Blades - NEW! :: Wiper Blades :: Autobulbs Direct Ltd - Xenon bulbs, car bulbs, wiper blades, headlight, Osram, Ring, Philips

Fitting is very easy, just unclip the originals and fit the new ones.
The driver side now does not have a spoiler but I think the more minimalist look is better as it reduces the "clutter" in the field of view.

Must point out that I do not work for the above company but found their service to be very good with almost next day delivery and they take PAYPAL so I can blow my Ebay profits with them!

I've been looking at these for a while now - do you have any photos of them on your car?

thanks

I have these on as well, can you do me a test. I find at motorway speeds the drivers side wiper lifts and does not wipe the whole screen, I may be going back to the originals!!!

I've been thinking about these aero wipers as a solution to the problem of the driver's side wiper skidding across the screen when doing 70MPH or more. Had the same problem on my previous Mini, but it's much worse on the new one which is only four months old.
Any more opinions ??

yep tried again changing back to originals tomorrow morning. Today at 110+ the entire right hand side of the drivers wiper lifted and bent!! When speed reduced to 70 then it stopped but still skidding and the right hand side just stays straight does stay bent in on the far right of the screen. IMHO useless I think with the mini's aerodynamics the screen is too upright and the wiper can't follow the curves in the corners (btw the passengers is superb tho!!)

Based on - erm - pesonal experience , are the blade (and spoiler) fitted the right way round?

If you get it wrong, instead of forcing the wiper against the screen, the spoiler generates an 'amazing' amount of lift at motorway speeds...

I got mine from WIPERBLADES.CO.UK : The UK's Premier Online Store and cant say ive had any problems. they clear well and dont squeak!

and they were cheap! the only thing I can say is when they are at "rest" the passenger wiper doesnt quite touch the screen on the last inch.

But I would reccommend them definatley

i get the same as Neb, the wiper on passenger side kinda hangs over, and only makes contact about 4 - 5 inches up the screen.

Is that when they are at rest or during the stroke?

We have them on our MINI and they are really good.

Clear the screen a million times better than the originals. As for the passenger wiper not touching at the end, its normal. Quite a few of other makes of cars with these fitted do the same "lifting". Id say it was the curvature of the glass and the rubber cant compensate.
