Offline | Anyone know if anyone in North America (or specifically Canada) sells a European (British) license plate bracket that does not require drilling to be done to the bumper of the MINI Cooper S. I just picked up my Cooper S tonight and wanted to put the British plate from my old Mini but don't want to drill into my bumper. The dealer gave me a plate bracket but it is for a North American plate, which is useless to me. I have searched the forums but want to know specifically about brackets which don't require drilling. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks, Jakearama. ![]() |

Offline | Velcro Might I suggest heavy duty velcro? I used velcro to attach a German plate about 6 years ago to my VW and have never had a problem. As you can see below it holds up to the high speeds of the race track and you never have to drill... Offline | Thanks Jason for the great idea! Exposing ignorance: Do you glue the velcro to the bumper? Where do you purchase heavy duty velcro-fabric stores? Thanks Jason, Joyce |

| MINI2 Master | You can get velcro with adhesive backing (like tape). But don't ask me where I got it! Offline | Thanks sdmidget- I just assumed heavy duty velcro was different than 'regular'. Wait 'til you start having 'over 60 moments' (The moments start running together.) ![]() |

Offline | I got it at trusty ole Home Depot. I got the widest, heaviest durty kind I could find. It is super adhesive on the back. Make sure your mounting surfaces are nice and clean and put a LOT of physical pressure when you stick the adhesive on them. Just to reiterate - you want WIDE velcro and sticky velco. Don't skimp on the cheap stuff... ![]() Jason Jason Livingood | personal web site 2002 DS/W MINI Cooper S Thank you for signing my rear fog light petition. Now we have rear fogs! :-) |

Offline | Velcro vs. some form of bracket (non-drilled) My only concern with the velcro is that, if I wanted to remove the plate (and the velcro) in the future, would the velcro remove the paint from the bumper of the car? Is there any way to remove the velcro without leaving adhesive or tearing the paint off? Secondly, do I understand that there is no bracket for the front of the MCS to mount a Europeam plate without drilling holes in the bumper? I have searched everywhere and haven't found anything.
