Bonnet stripes

I'd like to get some white bonnet stripes fitted to my Racing Green Mini Cooper (it already has a white roof, mirrors, and wheels). If I go to BMW, are they going to charge me an arm and a leg for them? I'd like authentic ones from them, though if they're too dear, does anyone make spot on replicas? Oh and should I get a vinyl type company to fit them, or is it a DIY job?

The authentic BMW Mini white stripes have a black border on them - see picture below:

I think a Mini looks incomplete without stripes of some description.

Yea I agree, the bonnet looks a little too plain without the stripes.

Definetly want to go for the authentic stripes. Do BMW sell them? Or could you only have them fitted to your car from new?

You can get them from your dealer there about £21.95 each + fitting

i dont think my mini looks bad without stripes, if you have a white roof its nice to have some to match it. Our cooper had bmw stripes fitted and they dont have the black outline, for early models they use no black outline for recent models they use the black outline on white or white on black

i just am not fond of grafics now if you care about your paint loads dont have them. As they trap so much rubbish under them, mine took off the paint when they removed them and if you have a check roof they split at the sides like mine did.

I think the Pin stripes make them. As it adds to the effect.

On cars with a white or black roof for me its a must. MINI with stripes are cool

Nice, so I'll be looking at £60-70 for the pinstripe bonnet stripes fitted. Not too bad, I thought it would be more than that, being a BMW and all!

I'm looking to get some black stripes with white pin stripe for my DS MCS Cab - I've seen black stripes on the DS and it finishes it off perfectly!

Above, someone has said £21.95 - i presume you mean £43.90 for the pair of stripes then?

Regarding fitting - me and my dad fitted my sisters Pink Viper stripes to her Mini - as long as you are good generally with DIY and have a steady hand and a good eye (being a bit of a perfectionist is always a bonus) then you will be ok fitting them yourself!

When I get my stripes I'll be fitting them myself...

Yes, according to the catalogue on MINI.co.uk, they are £43.90 for the pair of stripes.

I would fit them myself, though for the sake of £20-30 it is probably worth getting BMW to fit them. If they mess them up, get a bubble under one etc then it's their problem, and you won't be having to fork out for a replacement stripe.
