![]() Rhymes with depravity | 340 quid?!?! I just phoned my local MINI garage to ask about having some vipers fitted to my 04 Cooper. The car is BEP with a white roof so it only needs bonnet and boot stripes and they quoted me 340 quid including fitting! Am I completely mad to think this is EXTORTIONATE? The MINI site says they are RRP 99 pounds , 2.5 hours fitting - I asked the guy how much of that cost was fitting and he tells me 150 pounds. So 190 for the actual stripes?! Going to ring around some other garages but can anyone let me know vaguely how much they paid? |

| \\ World Record Holder // | i did my sisters pink vipers on her black cooper and it took us a while but it is fairly straight forward. use mini pirate or someone like that, or even buy them from mini, but seriously, as log as you are generally ok at DIY and have a steady hand you can do it yourself! i'm gonna be getting some stripes soon and will be fitting them myself! ![]() ![]() Guinness World Record Holder 'Largest Parade of MINI Cars' 28th March 2007 |

Offline | I Cant believe that price!. I fitted my own vipers on my old mini one, All you need is a bit of patience, common sense (dunno how i managed thinkin back lol), a sharp blade, and a bottle of spray, (like water and washing up liquid) After the vinyl is in place, expell the liquid from underneath the vinyl using a plyable piece of plastic (like a bank card) .. a heat gun will come in handy here too... It cost me a twenny quid for the vinyl from a sign writing shop. The vinyl if i remember rightly is 150mm wide. This what the guys will do who fit them for that price! Give it a try, it aint that hard! |

![]() Rhymes with depravity | Gah! If only Lohen were closer. Someone has suggested Minispeed which I might well try if the other dealership (who owe me a favour somewhat, I think, having sold me a Cooper with a buggered radiator that broke down three weeks after I picked it up) can't do me a great deal ![]() Thanks the all the ideas :-D |

![]() Rhymes with depravity | An update for anyone who's interested - Minispeed quoted £295 (!) but were quite acommodating about trying to spray BEP Vipers on the roof - looks like thats going to be WAY too expensive though. Cooper Croydon have quoted £200 so looks like she might be going there! |
