Offline | Changing the Sunroof If I leave the sunroof bare without graffics or painting over it then it lets in too much sunlight and heat, but if I put graffics over them then the only time I can let sunlight in or watch scenery is if I open up the sunroof. Does anybody know or have seen a way to put a slider in like with sunroofs in different cars? Or any other things to keep the sunlight from Always coming in? Sorry, I live where it is Very hot. |

Offline | Does anyone know how to replace the mesh material with black out fabric? I'm curious on how to do this too. Does this get done at a dealer/shop or is it something I can do myself? |

Offline | You could have your sunroof glass changed out and have the system converted to a cloth type retractable sunroof. Its a MINI accessory, but not a cheap one. ![]() www.MINICalgary.com |

Offline | Or, you could get a sunroof graphic that's perforated. I have a checkered sunroof graphic and from the inside, I can't really tell that it's on there. The black checkers just look like a shadow and you can't see the white checkers at all. I'll tell you this, though, the graphic cuts down A LOT of the glare. I didn't like having a bare sunroof because I'm practically a vampire and require shade. Try Cooperflags. |

Offline | This came up in a thread about a year ago, and as Root GInger pointed out the retractable canvas top is for cars that don't have a sunroof at all. |

Offline | Yup, as Faster,Tobias! already mentions, it would appears that the cloth retractable roof is only applicable for cars that do not currently have a sunroof. I did find a link to the part number: RealOEM.COM BMW R53 Cooper S RETROFIT, FOLDING ROOF ELECTR. Sorry for giving false hope! I like Mister's idea of having perforated checkers or something similar. ![]() www.MINICalgary.com |
