Offline | My Latest Mod... Before anyone shouts GP Copy, I had this idea before even lightweight special was mentioned ![]() I'd had the aero kit on my Cooper, and when it came to changing to an S everyone was getting aero kits. So I wanted my S to look a little different to every Tom, **** and Harry;s Aero kit (No offense intended )I was going to fit the OEM grill to an Aero Kit and paint it all body colour. However it took 18 months longer than planned to get the rest of the Aero kit. At the time of fitting it I wanted it on and the original grill didn't look right with the chrome, the body coloured slats and the black plastic lower grill, so I just went ahead and fitted the aero grill. As body coloured didn't look right I also decided to modify my plan slightly, and spray the OEM grill to match the plastic of the aero grill and archs. Anyway it got put back and put back and then I got my Stoptech brakes and had some custom made spacers. The spacers where bright silver so decided I better get them sprayed black. One can of high temperature BBQ Plasticote and the spacers where done and I'd had a go at spraying the grill to. I was that impressed with how the painting turned out I thought I'd fit it: Its not perfect when critcal to the eye, but as it looked good decided to leave it on. It will probably stone chip to hell, but when it does I'll have it properly sprayed in the same finish and use the aero grill in the mean time. ![]() |

| MINI2 Senior | I like it, Its nice to see something different :-) Were you able to paint the middle grille (i.e. top of the bumper) without removing the bumper? GTT, GRS, Janspeed, JCW, OMP + various other bits - 232.6bhp, 191.2lbft on 1320's rolling road |

Offline | Great! Looks fab! How easy is it to fit the orginal grille to the aerokit bumper? Do they just fit straight on or did it take some adjustment to get your S grille on the aero kit bumper? |
